Hot Seats season is in full swing as we now have our first firing in the SEC.
Sam Pittman, Arkansas

After a 56-13 home loss against Notre Dame, Sam Pittman is out at Arkansas. Pittman’s record at Arkansas was 32-34, including 14-29 in SEC play.
Offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino will take over as the interim coach. Petrino has already begun overhauling the staff, firing three defensive coaches.
Petrino returns to the sidelines where he went 34-17 from 2008 to 2011. He has a difficult task in front of him with the Razorbacks’ remaining schedule.

Arkansas will likely be underdogs in every remaining game left.
As for Pittman, we will miss his personality when it came to postgame interviews.
Billy Napier, Florida

Florida coach Billy Napier is off to a rough start in 2025, and it does not get any easier as his team hosts #9 Texas this Saturday. If the Gators are to pull off the upset, it will take improved play from quarterback DJ Lagway. Lagway threw for only 61 yards in his last outing at Miami. However, Napier seems confident in his sophomore signal caller.
Last season, Florida had improbable home wins over LSU and Ole Miss. Can they pull off another upset this weekend? If not, the countdown is on for Napier.
Kalen DeBoer, Alabama

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer had a huge win over Georgia this weekend. Now, Alabama appears to be heavily in the SEC and College Football Playoff race. The Crimson Tide led throughout as they got the 24-21 victory in Athens.
After looking like a soft team against Florida State, Alabama looks to have their physicality back. Nothing illustrates that more than this trick play to left tackle Kadyn Proctor.
Things are looking up in Tuscaloosa, but here comes Vanderbilt. We know how that went last season.
Mark Stoops, Kentucky

Kentucky got off to a good start at South Carolina as they scored on their first two drives. The Wildcats held a 10-7 first quarter lead then things unraveled. Four turnovers did Kentucky in as they fell 35-13.
Kentucky will now have to regroup and head to Athens to take on Georgia. The Wildcats last won there in 2009.
Hugh Freeze, Auburn

After back-to-back losses, Hugh Freeze’s record at Auburn is now 14-16. The latest loss at Texas A&M included an ugly offensive performance. The Tigers were held to only nine first downs and did not convert a single third down.
Auburn has this week off to figure things out before hosting Georgia on October 11.
