Credit to Pardon My Take for giving us Mount Rushmore season as we go through the summer months. As any football guy does, I am already looking ahead to football season. As the season approaches, we have many storylines brewing since we know the NFL is king. However, what about the teams that do not figure to move the needle in 2025?

Now, I present to you, “The Mount Rushmore of Uninteresting NFL Teams in 2025”.
1. New Orleans Saints

While there are reasons to be optimistic about the future of the New Orleans Saints, the team on the field does not project to be one of the league’s most intriguing teams. Moving on from head coach Dennis Allen and quarterback Derek Carr definitely has Saints fans feeling more positive. However, this is a team with zero primetime games for the upcoming season. Even general manager Mickey Loomis was accepting of that decision.
Can first-year head coach Kellen Moore ignite something in New Orleans? There is hope, but with little experience at quarterback, this team may not be much of a factor in 2025.
2. Carolina Panthers

Since Cam Newton’s precipitous decline, the Carolina Panthers have been a mainstay on this list. The Panthers have churned through three coaches in the span of only six seasons, while steadily losing football games. During that time period, they made a blockbuster trade to move up in the 2023 NFL Draft to take quarterback Bryce Young first overall.
This trade appears to be quite lopsided towards the Bears for the time being, but Young played well down the stretch to close out last season. The Panthers won two of their final three games and Young’s play was a big reason why.
Can Bryce Young save this franchise or will they stay a fixture as one of the NFL’s doormats?
3. New York Jets

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is out, and head coach Aaron Glenn is in. The New York Jets are in a bit of a rebuild after a tumultuous era that did not deliver what was hoped for. Rodgers spent two seasons with the Jets and failed to make the playoffs in both seasons.
Now, the Jets turn to Justin Fields to lead the offense. Fields will reconnect with former Ohio State wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Wilson has topped 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons, but is looking for more in 2025. With that are looming contract talks for the fourth-year pass catcher.
As you can see, star cornerback Sauce Gardner is also in contract talks with the team. Gardner had an immediate impact in the league, becoming one of the league’s top cornerbacks as a rookie in 2022. He would go on to win 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Gardner was a big reason why the Jets had one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2022. They held opponents to only 4.8 yards per play, which was tied for the league lead along with the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the turmoil, the Jets defense continued to be among the NFL’s best in 2024.
Perhaps the Jets will not make the headlines as much this season, but after the past two, I bet they are okay with that.
4. Arizona Cardinals

I really hesitated to put the Arizona Cardinals on this list due to Kyler Murray. Murray is still a dynamic playmaker, but he is entering seventh year in the NFL. At this point, the clock has to be ticking on him and the Cardinals organization. This is a team that has not made the playoffs since 2021.
Marvin Harrison Jr was drafted in 2024 and expected to be the top rookie receiver. Harrison Jr had a productive season, finishing with 885 yards and 8 touchdowns. However, four other rookies had over 1,000 receiving yards. Perhaps a second-year bump is on the way? If recent pictures are any indication, Harrison Jr has been putting in work this offseason.
And who is their coach again?
Most of us would have forgotten if not for his weird viral video after being announced as coach.
Jonathan Gannon is back for his third season in Arizona for a bunch of games in the afternoon window that most of the country will not be watching.
Once again, the NFL is king, so even the most uninteresting teams have some interesting storylines or fun aspects to them. The Jacksonville Jaguars almost made this list, but they added Travis Hunter. The Heisman Trophy winner will undoubtedly add intrigue in Duval. Not to mention, they already have an exciting wide receiver in Brian Thomas Jr. You can go down the list and find something to be captivated by.
The countdown to football season is on!
