It is now tournament time, which means it is time to fill out as many brackets as possible over the next few days. I have resigned to the fact that my brackets will most likely stink; therefore, I do not have any advice on how to fill yours out. I have no clue which 13 or 14 seeds will spring improbable upsets. However, I can offer up some players that are worth watching.
These guys are some real “PTP’ers” in the words of Dick Vitale. While Mr. Vitale has been sidelined by vocal cord cancer, he is recovering from a successful surgery and should be back calling games soon. I wish him the best in this battle.
Here are my top five players to watch in March Madness:
Cormac Ryan, North Carolina

Cormac Ryan looks like a guy who would play at Duke. However, he plays for their rival, North Carolina. Not only that, but he dominated the Blue Devils when the two teams met in Cameron Indoor earlier this month. The sharp-shooting Ryan had 31 points in the matchup which led to the Tar Heels clinching the ACC regular season title.
Ryan and North Carolina will take on the winner of Howard and Wagner on Thursday.
Rob Dillingham, Kentucky

Rob Dillingham is yet another extremely talented freshman at Kentucky playing for John Calipari. Dillingham is an excellent scorer and plays at a speed not many players can.
Guard him at your own risk.
Dillingham will be in action against Oakland on Thursday.
Dalton Knecht, Tennessee

Dalton Knecht led Tennessee to a regular season title. Knecht was also named SEC Player of the Year. At 6’6”, he can create in multiple ways.
He has serious range.
Knecht and Tennessee will take the floor against St. Peter’s on Thursday.
Jamal Shead, Houston

Houston is a #1 seed and Jamal Shead is a big reason why. The senior guard can do it all and embodies the toughness of the Houston basketball program.
Ball. Player.
Cougars fans made sure to show their appreciation as Shead checked out for the final time at home.
Shead will lead Houston against Longwood on Friday.
DJ Burns, North Carolina State

After North Carolina State’s extraordinary run in the ACC Tournament, I had to include DJ Burns. The big fella was instrumental for the Wolfpack as they marched through the ACC Tournament to earn a ticket to the big dance. Burns scored 19 points in the semifinal win over Virginia and 20 points in the championship game win over North Carolina.
How can you not be a fan of this guy?
Burns will be back on the court against Texas Tech on Thursday.
Best of luck filling out your brackets and finding TruTV on your television!
