Top Five Usher Songs

My annual Super Bowl blog began by highlighting the top five rappers from the host city. The top five was chosen by me, of course. Last season, I was unable to come up with rappers from the host city of Glendale, Arizona, so I was forced to pivot. Instead, I went through Rihanna’s top five songs. That has proven to be the case again this year with Las Vegas, Nevada. Fortunately, Usher is the halftime show performer and he has some bangers!

I will give you my top five Usher songs, but first, let us take a look back at blogs from previous years:

LIII: Atlanta

LIV: Miami

LV: Tampa

LVI: Los Angeles

LVII: Rihanna

Usher has been on the scene for a long time as evidenced by his impressive collection of hit songs. I now present his top five.

5. “Love In This Club” (2008)

Usher gets right to the point in “Love in This Club”, which was and remains a popular club song. From Reggie’s (RIP) to E11EVEN, dudes are thinking they will get lucky once this song starts playing.

Also a shout out to the trapstar himself, Young Jeezy, for hopping onto this track.

4. “Burn” (2004)

“Burn” is the quintessential millennial break-up song. I can’t even imagine how many tears have been cried while listening to this song.

Don’t cry yet, we still have three songs left.

3. “Yeah!” (2004)

We go back to the club scene with “Yeah!” featuring Lil’ Jon and Ludacris. Usher shows off his dance moves with Lil’ Jon sprinkling in “yeah” a few dozen times. This song has inspired an obscene amount of embarrassing dance moves, particularly from white people. Look no further than Kevin James’s character in Hitch.

That is still not quite as embarrassing as what has happened to Will Smith in recent years.

2. “Nice & Slow” (1998)

“Nice & Slow” is one of Usher’s earliest works and to this day remains a karaoke favorite. While not everyone can carry the tune Usher can, that has not stopped them from trying. And who can really blame them? When you hear:

It’s seven o’clock on the dot…

You cannot help but break into song.

1. “U Got It Bad” (2001)

“U Got It Bad” is an obvious choice for Usher’s #1 song. With a smooth beat, big-time vocals, and emotional lyrics, this song cuts deep. It is an all-time ballad and if you disagree, maybe you got it bad.

Enjoy the Super Bowl and the halftime show with Usher!

With Super LIX in New Orleans, we will get back to rappers next year and I am already looking forward to it!
