Top Five Rihanna Songs

Rihanna is set to perform for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. While I typically focus on top five rappers from the Super Bowl host city, this year presented an impossible task. I really do not know any rappers from Phoenix.

2019: Atlanta

2020: Miami

2021: Tampa Bay

2022: Los Angeles

Therefore, I will turn my attention to Rihanna. I consider myself a fan of hers and look forward to what she will bring to the big stage. Her catalog consists of some blog-worthy bangers. I made the executive decision to only choose from songs in which she is the main artist. Therefore I had to leave off “Take Care”, “Live Your Life, and “Run This Town” as well as other hits.

Now, for my top five Rihanna songs:

5. “Cheers” (2011)

“Cheers” is unbelievably catchy and an overall, feel-good song. Push play and you will be thinking “I’ll drink to that”.

4. “Hard” (2009)

This song is hard. Just listen to it.

3. “We Found Love” (2011)

OK, the beat on this song is pretty sick. Thanks Calvin Harris, but Rihanna gets all the credit for making this song a hit.

2. “Umbrella” (2007)

“Umbrella” is simply timeless. This is the song that made Rihanna a mega-star back in 2007. That is just a fact. This song is the reason any time you said umbrella you added “ella, ella, ay, ay” for about a year. The umbrella industry also saw a boom. According to Darren Rovell, the umbrella industry grew 32% following the release of this hit song.

1. “Rockstar 101” (2010)

Rihanna brings out another level of swagger in “Rockstar 101”. “Baby, I’m a rock star”, she declares, and this banger proves it.
