I have long said that there are no bad teams in the NFL. On a given week, any team can beat another. However, there are exceptions. This year we may have a prime example of that.
Look no further than the Washington Redskins Commanders. The Commanders currently sit at 1-3 after a loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Washington got off to a bad start before the game even began. That came with one of the most out-of-touch tweets from a team account in recent history.
Friends and rivals? As if changing the name was not enough, now they are going to rub this in their fans’ faces? I cannot imagine there are any Commanders fans that still support Dan Snyder. If there were, this picture was probably the final straw.
The game did not go the Commanders way as they fell 25-10. It is not a surprise given this organization is run so poorly. Add that to the fact that they showed up in uniforms that looked like they were designed by a middle schooler.
No, those unis do not warrant a fire emoji. The whole look good, play good (which should be play well) thing does not apply here.
On the field, the Commanders brought in quarterback Carson Wentz. Let’s just say the early returns have not been great. Through four games, Wentz has thrown five interceptions and been sacked seventeen times. He appears to be a shell of a quarterback who once had a bright future and now appears to have no confidence in himself. The poor effort on Sunday reflects that and Wentz is proving to be more like the guy who was dumped by both Philadelphia and Indianapolis.
Is there anything positive about this team right now? Well rookie receiver Jahan Dotson appears to be the real deal. The first rounder already has four touchdowns on the season. However, Dotson is already hurt.
Dotson’s injury is all too common for Commanders’ fans. 2020 first round pick Chase Young still has not played a down as he recovers from a torn ACL.
It must be just brutal to be a Commanders fan. I think PFT Commenter just about sums it up here.
I believe there was a time when it was fun to be a fan of this franchise. Being a fan of the Redskins or even The Washington Football Team brought some exciting moments. But if nothing else, you could find solace in the Hooters at Fedex Field. Even that is gone now.
And it does not end there…
The Commanders franchise is a joke. Not even sure what they are commanding, but I know one thing that they are not commanding, and that is respect!
