The 2022 Edition of Hard Knocks premieres tonight. HBO goes inside training camp with the Detroit Lions. The Lions have been mired in futility for the past decade or so. Last season, they finished 3-13-1 under first year head coach Dan Campbell.
That said, Hard Knocks is back and that means football is right around the corner. Let’s get started with a drinking game to accompany tonight’s airing of Hard Knocks.
As mentioned earlier, Campbell is the head coach of the Lions. He is made for TV, podcasts, or whatever form of media you consume. Campbell, in true football guy form, has adopted the term “grit”.

Campbell is sure to be a central figure in tonight’s premiere. He is now the head coach, but he was once a tight end for the Lions. I reckon we will get a flashback of that.

After Campbell, the next person to be featured will be quarterback Jared Goff. Goff is no stranger to Hard Knocks, having appeared on the series in 2016 and 2020 as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.

Rookie skits are always a big hit on Hard Knocks and tonight should be no exception. Rookie defensive end Aidan Hutchinson will be performing his own rendition of “Billie Jean” on tonight’s show.
