Season record: 25-14-1
Last week: 5-0 (West Virginia +6.5, Northwestern -4, Florida +3, Pitt +2, Arkansas +1.5)

I caught fire last week and went 5-0! That brings my winning percentage on the year to 63.75%. Let’s get to some more winners.

#9 Miami Hurricanes (6-1) @ Virginia Tech Hokies (4-3) | November 14 | 11:00 AM CT | Lane Stadium
Line: Virginia Tech -2.5 | Total: 67
Two potent offenses square off in Blacksburg on Saturday. Virginia Tech averages 37.3 points per game while Miami averages 34.4 points per game. Both teams are in the top 10 in plays of 30 or more yards, with 22 each.
Meanwhile both defenses have been suspect to big plays. Virginia Tech gives up 6.39 yards per play. The Hokies also rank near the bottom of FBS in plays of 30 yards or more allowed with 17. Miami has allowed 13.
Both quarterbacks are coming off great performances. Virginia Tech’s Hendon Hooker threw for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 156 yards and a touchdown. D’Eriq King was even more impressive for Miami, throwing for 430 yards and 5 touchdowns and rushing for another 105 yards.
Give me over 67.

#10 Indiana Hoosiers (3-0) @ Michigan State Spartans (1-2) | November 14 | 11:00 AM CT | Spartan Stadium
Line: Michigan State +7.5 | Total: 51.5
Indiana is 3-0 in Big Ten play for the first time since 1988. The Hoosiers’ strong start includes wins over Penn State and Michigan. However, the Indiana offense has not been great despite their record. While the offense gained a season-high 460 yards against Michigan, I think that is more of an indictment on how bad the Michigan defense is. On the season, Indiana only averages 4.71 yards per play. That is 110th out of 123 FBS teams.
Michigan State sits at 1-2 after being drubbed by Iowa by a score 0f 49-7. The Spartans were hamstrung by three interceptions and other mistakes.
However, like Indiana, Michigan State had their best offensive output against Michigan. The Spartans put up 449 yards of offense in the matchup.
I expect a hungry Michigan State team to show up on Saturday. I am picking Michigan State +7.5.

#3 Ohio State Buckeyes (3-0) @ Maryland Terrapins (2-1) | November 14 | 2:30 PM CT | Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium
Line: Ohio State -25.5 | Total: 73
Justin Fields has been simply superb this season. Through three games, Fields is completing 86.7% of his passes. He has thrown for 11 touchdowns and no interceptions while leading the Buckeyes. Ohio State is averaging 46.3 points per game.
After a dismal effort against Northwestern, Maryland has figured things out. In their past two games, they average 540 yards and 40 points. Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has thrown for three touchdowns in each of those games.
Ohio State allows 23 points per game. I expect the Terrapins offense to challenge them. While it may not be enough to win, it should be enough to get over 73.
*Unfortunately, this game has since been canceled.

#2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-0) @ Boston College Eagles (5-3) | November 14 | 2:30 PM CT | Alumni Stadium
Line: Notre Dame -13.5 | Total: 49.5
Two weeks ago, Boston College took Clemson down to the wire. The Eagles were defeated 34-28, but I am sure they gained a great deal of confidence. Last week, that same Clemson team suffered an overtime loss at the hands of Notre Dame.
This figures to be a good game. Oh, and it is the “The Red Bandanna Game”.
As the great Rico Bosco says, “Some things are bigger than sports.”
Boston College +13.5

#13 Wisconsin Badgers (1-0) @ Michigan Wolverines (1-2) | November 14 | 6:30 PM CT
Line: Wisconsin -4 | Total: 54.5
Wisconsin has not played a game since October 23. I regretfully took Illinois and the points. Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz only went to complete 20 of 21 passes for 248 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Mertz later tested positive for COVID-19 along with other players, which caused Wisconsin to put football activities on hold. Now the Badgers are back to face Michigan and a defense that allows 287 passing yards per game.
I believe in Mertz and expect a strong encore performance.
After a 1-2 start, there are rumors swirling that Jim Harbaugh may not return for another season at Michigan. Whatever the case may be, I do not feel confident in the Wolverines.
I am taking Wisconsin -4.
