Nado’s Notions is back for another season. I finished 2019 with a record of 36-31-2.
I usually am not a fan of making picks in opening games, but in the age of COVID-19, I am not holding anything back.

Duke Blue Devils @ Notre Dame Fighting Irish | September 12 | 1:30 PM CT | Notre Dame Stadium
Line: Notre Dame -20 | Total: 54
Ian Book returns for the Irish behind an experienced offensive line, a unit which has four seniors and a junior. Book threw for 34 touchdowns last season and also can make plays with his feet. In last season’s meeting against Duke, he ran for 139 yards.
For Duke, Clemson transfer Chase Brice takes the reigns as the starting quarterback. I have my doubts with him making his first start in these circumstances. Has Brice been able to grasp a new system with the restricted practices?
The Notre Dame defense will not make life easy for him. The Irish defense was in the top 20 in both yards allowed and points allowed last season.
I expect the Irish to roll. Notre Dame -20 is the pick.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ Florida State Seminoles | September 12 | 2:30 PM CT | Doak Campbell Stadium
Line: Florida State -12.5 | Total: 51.5
Florida State was a disaster in 2019. So much so that head coach Willie Taggart was fired. Mike Norvell was hired from Memphis to help bring the Seminoles back to prominence. Norvell has his work cut out for him.
Georgia Tech head coach Geoff Collins is no stranger to the challenges of a new coach. His Yellow Jackets only won three games last season. I expect to see improvement in year 2 under Collins.
Give me Georgia Tech +12.5.
