The SEC landscape has changed significantly since last edition of Hot Seats. So let’s jump right in to see how things have changed. So let’s see where things stand.

After a 1-2 start, Gus Malzahn has turned things around. Auburn is fresh off of a dominant 56-3 victory over Arkansas. The score may actually be closer than this game actually was, as Auburn dominated in nearly every category.
As the season has progressed, so have the Auburn Tigers. The Gus Bus has been mashing the accelerator averaging 584 yards per game in the month of October. The rushing offense is in rare form as it heads to Oxford to take on an Ole Miss team that just surrendered 311 rushing yards to LSU.
This will be Malzahn’s last appearance on SEC Hot Seats for 2016.

Don’t look now, but the Kentucky Wildcats have won four of their last five. We won’t hold the loss against them, since it was Alabama. Anyways, the Kentucky Wildcats find themselves within a game of the SEC East lead.
Just as we were ready to write off Mark Stoops, he goes out and completely turns things around. Yes, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State are not the class of the SEC, but given where this team was a month ago, it is quite an accomplishment. With four wins under his belt, and five games remaining, Stoops still has a decent chance of taking his team to the promised land…Birmingham, Alabama for the Birmingham Bowl (RIP BBVA Compass Bowl).
Now for the new faces on Hot Seats…

I never thought Bret Bielema would make an appearance on SEC Hot Seats in 2016 after the overtime victory over TCU in Fort Worth, but here we are. Bielema’s team looked lifeless as Auburn handed them a 56-3 loss. The Hogs sit at 1-3 in the SEC heading into their bye week. Bielema can hopefully spend some time in the kitchen where his meals look better prepared than his team has lately.

Jen and I think alike

Our final coach on this week’s edition is Ed Orgeron. I’m sure you’re asking yourself how a coach who has not lost a game is on the hot seat. If Ed Orgeron wants the LSU job he has to keep it that way. After the bye week, LSU will face three ranked opponents including a huge matchup with #1 Alabama.
Good luck Coach O!
