Week 4 SEC Hot Seats

NCAA Football: Texas A&M at Auburn

Week 4 brings us the Hot Seat Bowl between Auburn and LSU. Gus Malzahn is feeling the heat as his team is 1-2. Les Miles survived a scare and held on to defeat Mississippi State 23-20.

NCAA Football: Mississippi State at Louisiana State

The pressure on both head coaches adds another storyline to a rivalry that has seen it all. For both coaches, this must feel like a must win game. Malzahn starting 1-3 or Miles starting 2-2 will be a long way from their preseason expectations.

Since the turn of the century, LSU has only won at Auburn twice, 2008 and 2012. Auburn head coaches Tommy Tuberville and Gene Chizik were fired later in those respective seasons.

Will history repeat itself or will Les get his final taste of the grass of Pat Dye Field?

Mark Stoops

Now to Mark Stoops, who just picked up his first win of the season. Kentucky actually struggled against New Mexico State before pulling ahead for good in their 62-42 win. Stoops defense again gave up a ton of yards and points. The good news is South Carolina is coming to town. The Gamecocks head coach Will Muschamp is known stop offenses, even his own.

Tune into SEC Network at 6:30 PM to see who will finish last in the SEC East.

Kevin Sumlin has managed to almost sneak off of the hot seat with Texas A&M’s 3-0 start.

Not so fast, my friend!

Up next is Arkansas and Bret Bielema. The Razorbacks are 3-0 and looking to knock off the Aggies for the first time since they joined the league in 2012. Arkansas has been able to take Texas A&M to overtime but fell short the past two meetings. Let’s watch out for the Hogs as they have already downed TCU in Fort Worth.

Texas A&M may survive this Saturday, but Texas A&M still has a number of tough games on the schedule. Sumlin could find himself back on the hot seat at some point.
